Artist's Comments

Except for closeups of the carving, this is the last of this series. If you'd like the table from another angle, let me know.

Of course, you can always flip the image left/right,or use a perspective filter, to change the angle a little.

This is *barefootliam's royalty-free stock account.

You can use the images here in any work on DeviantArt (including prints) without needing any permission or paying any fee; I ask that you let me know when you use a piece so I can link back to it.

You can use the pieces non-commercially for any purpose whatsoever; again I'd like a link back if possible.

You can use the pieces commercially, but in this case you must send me a copy of the finished work, and the cost is that you must go entirely barefoot for a day, i.e. all the time for 24 consecutive hours. OK, I'm weird. Live with it.

WOW! My parents have this table's twin! My father, a sea captain, bought it in Hong Kong when he was a young sailor :) It's the first time ever I see another one just like it :) I think it's made from what we in Norway call a "kamfer tre", translated "camphor tree", ( but I don't know if that's what this tree is called in English) I'm not even sure if I'm confusing it with the "camphor" chest they have on the attic though :p I just remember the lovely scent :) I also seem to remember my father being told by the shopkeeper that it was customary to have a lit lamp inside the table.
Ah....this brings back memories :)
putting a lamp inside would be really neat. The table is hinged at each of the eight corners, so that it folds flat after you take away the top.

it seems a common design of table in the East.

Thanks for looking!
