Artist's Comments
My antiquarian books/antique books/old books series seems popular, based on downloads and what few comments I've had, so here's some more.
Robert Ainsworth's Latin dictionary in two volumes, published in 1752; leather-bound folio, approx 10.5" x 16" (260 x 400mm). Close-up of part of a page. The "2 Y y y" is a signature mark: after a sheet of paper was printed on both sides it was folded, and then the folded "signatures" were sewn into the book. The signature mark helps the book binder to get them all in the right order. * This is *barefootliam's royalty-free stock account. You can use the images here in any work on DeviantArt (including prints) without needing any permission or paying any fee; I ask that you let me know when you use a piece so I can link back to it. You can use the pieces non-commercially for any purpose whatsoever; again I'd like a link back if possible. You can use the pieces commercially, but in this case you must send me a copy of the finished work, and the cost is that you must go entirely barefoot for a day, i.e. all the time for 24 hours. OK, I'm weird. Live with it. My main account: |
